What is Cubby Walk?
Cubby Walk is one of Northside’s beloved traditions and biggest fundraisers, hosted by Friends of Northside, to raise additional money outside of the CPS budget.
Every year, students have the opportunity to compete in the T-Shirt Design contest, in which students propose designs for the yearly Cubby Walk t-shirt and the student body votes on a winning design.
Participating in Cubby Walk not only provides students with a ticket to the Cubs v. Astros game but also automatically enters them into a raffle for prizes.
Seniors have the opportunity to win the $1000 Cubby Walk College Scholarship and 4 extra tickets to graduation.
Additionally, the Pep Club will host Northside’s 2nd and final pep rally of this school year to celebrate Cubby Walk and the start of the spring sports season. At the event, Juniors have the opportunity to win one reserved parking space in the main school parking lot with a personalized sign or two tickets to next year’s Senior Prom. Additionally, Sophomores can win one free parking permit in the student lot, and Freshmen can win an individual locker for their sophomore year.
How to Participate
All students, teachers, and volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the 2026 Cubby Walk. To participate, it is mandatory for students to submit the 2026 Cubby Walk Permission form and Pledge Donation Form. These forms can be found here. Students must also fundraise and donate a minimum of $50.

The Cubby Walk route can be seen above and in emails from Mr. Smith.
Day-of Logistics
If you plan to bring a water bottle, make sure it is disposable to comply with Wrigley Field’s rules. If you want to bring a bag, it must be smaller than 16 x 16 x 8 inches, or it will not be allowed in. Backpacks are too large.
This year, the Cubs are playing the 8-10 Philadelphia Phillies, a team featuring 2016 Chicago Cub Kyle Schwarber. The projected pitching matchup is Chicago’s 2-0 Edward Cabrera, a RHP with a 2.38 ERA, and Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sánchez, a 2-2 lefty with a 1.59 ERA (mlb.com).
