Northside’s Local School Council (LSC) elections will take place next week on Wednesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 19. Community members will vote on March 18, and student elections will take place on March 19, according to Ms. Brito-Shaku.
What is LSC?
According to CPS, “Local School Councils serve as a governing body for each district-managed school in CPS. LSCs help to propel our schools forward by inviting valuable collaboration from parents, community members, students and staff.”
LSC is responsible for approving a school’s academic plan, approving the budget, and reviewing and contracting the school’s principal.
