What Is the Cubby Walk?
Cubby walk is one of Northside’s biggest fundraisers, and it’s hosted by friends of Northside to raise money for things outside the CPS budget. During this event, each NCP student who donates $45 receives a cubby walk t-shirt, a Cubs vs Philly game ticket at 1:30 pm, Friday, April 25th, and automatic entry into various raffles. This year’s cubby walk t-shirt has been chosen, and the winner will be announced the morning of the walk. We will start the day with a pep rally, then the participating students and teachers will start the walk from Northside College Prep to Wrigley Field.
How to Participate
To participate in Cubby Walk, each student must submit a parent-signed permission slip and a donation form. There is a minimum donation of $45 to participate. All of this can be turned into the main office.
Route, Rules, & Game Day Info
- The walk to Wrigley Field is a 5-mile walk, taking approximately an hour and a half. The route map is below.
- It is very important that if you are participating in Cubby Walk, you enter Wrigley Field because if our students aren’t participating, we risk losing the tickets.
- Baseball games usually take 2 and a half to 3 hours, so you can expect the game to end around 4:00-4:30 pm.
- Wrigleyville can get chaotic after the game, so try to make a plan for transportation home before the game, and remember your Ventra card if you plan to take the CTA.
- If you are planning on bringing a water bottle, you should only bring a disposable one because Wrigley may not let you in with a reusable one.
- Similarly, if you are bringing a bag or anything else, make sure to check the Wrigley Website for rules and regulations regarding what can enter the stadium.
