A member of the Special Education department, Mr. Thompson is now in his second full year of teaching at Northside College Prep.  

Mr. Thompson’s favorite study tip for students? Teach someone else. He believes that explaining a concept to a younger person, or even pretending to, helps you organize your thoughts, make connections, and identify any gaps in understanding. He encourages his students through this method.

His favorite part of being an educator? The joy of seeing students light up as they make new discoveries and develop their potential.

Outside of teaching, Mr. Thompson is a culinary enthusiast. He loves to experiment in the kitchen, often cooking up something new. His favorite part of cooking is experimentation—he believes that even if the outcome isn’t perfect, it always leads to something better the next time around.

Additionally, Mr. Thompson enjoys dressing up for Halloween, bringing his love for fun into the school environment. Last year, he and his department fully embraced a Jurassic Park theme.

Mr. Thompson appreciates the incredible energy that runs through Northside.
